Who Do You Say that I Am?

In this podcast, Tony talks about the two questions Jesus asks of his disciples at Caesarea Phillipi. They are just as valid today. We need to ask the question, Who do you say that I am? Our answer speaks volumes of our understanding of Matthew’s gospel.

Scripture: When Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter said in reply, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:13-17

Quote: “Right is right even if no one is doing it, wrong is wrong, even if everyone is doing it.” St. Augustine of Hippo

Reflection: Who do you say that Jesus is? Who do your friends say that Jesus is? Are you a Christian first, before liberal or conservative?
